Story: Assimilation
Written By: Kiley Rossetter & Christopher Monfette
Series: Star Trek: Picard
Year: 2022

After fighting off the Magistrate and a couple of security guys, they attempt to attach the Queen to the ship so they can travel back in time.  But Elnor is severely injured.  They manage to succeed in their plan to travel back in time and crash land in what will one day be Picard's vineyard.  But they lose power and as a result, Elnor dies.  Raffi blames Picard, because we need some hot character conflict, but they all try to carry on their mission of finding the mysterious "Watcher" the queen vaguely told Picard about.
Raffi and Seven are beamed into random locations and meet up, but Rios is beamed like 10 feet in the air and crashes into the sidewalk.  Whoops.  Raffi and Seven spend much of the episode just standing in some place trying to figure out where Rios is.  He is concussed and taken to a clinic that helps immigrants.  He has some meet cute with the doctor that runs the place until they are invaded by ICE and taken into custody.

On the ship, Jurati convinces Picard to let her half assimilate to pull the Borg queen out of her sleep which is stealing all power from the ship, and hopefully restore the power and get the info they need.  Jurati has a weird reaction to being in the Queen's head which I am sure will have repercussions. The plan works and the Queen awakes, and she tries to bargain the information with the price being taking over the ship...Picard refuses and when Jurati awakes points out the queen has nothing to bargain with, as she stole the info while in her head. They just need to comb through the data and find out what they need.  Once they have it I suppose they could kill the queen right?  Probably not.

This episode wasn't as frustrating to sit through as the previous two, but I am still just not feeling this cast.  I don't care about most of them. In fact I was sort of glad the Elf from Rivendell died, he was such a useless character.  Knowing that most of this cast doesn't return for the third and final season, maybe the entire year is meant to wipe them out one by one. That might be fun.
