Renée Picard

Story: Fly Me to the Moon

We find out from the Watcher person (who Picard guesses is one of Gary Seven's type because he can recall any random episode of a show he wasn't even on), and he learns that she is tasked with watching one important human being's life for no reason.  She isn't to interact with her. She is to make sure her life stays on course or protect her but she can't really do anything and doesn't know her or ever see her in person. Basically, it seems like she is tasked with watching a long boring TV show based around one single individual named Picard. Oh god...
Anyhow, the person she is tasked with is Renée Picard, Jean-Luc's ancestor.  We also learn that it seems her therapist is talking her out of the important mission she is meant to fly...and while I knew it long before they showed his face, the therapist is Q.  Q is not only derailing Picard's family history, but he is also contacting an ancestor of the Soongs who, coincidentally, also looks exactly like Brent Spiner.  At this point I am convinced this family is entirely made out of incest.  His daughter, who coincidentally looks like Sohji, is sufffering from a rare genetic disorder that makes air and the sun poisonous to her (sure) and he is a geneticist doing everything within his power to save her life. Q offers a possible solution which seems to work briefly, but Q will give him the full cure if he helps him overcome limitations or something.  How a geneticist in the past is going to help a superbeing from the future...I dunno. Q's plan seems convoluted and stupid, though I don't have the full details yet on just HOW stupid it is.

Meanwhile Agnes is utterly useless to this team so she is just sleeping in an abandoned house and leaves the Borg Queen to her own devices, and the Queen manages to tap into cell towers and calls a cop to the ship, who is utterly baffled but what he sees and the Queen takes him hostage and calls Agnes.  Agnes shoots the guy and the queen, seemingly saves the guy, but the queen is "Dead."  But the queen is now living inside her brain or something?  I don't know or care but I pretty much knew this dumb shit was going to happen, because this is a series written by people who project everything they are going to do and then act like it is mysterious where it is heading.

I think I hate this show and I think the writers are absolute idiots.

NEXT TIME: Agnes Queen
