Story: The Time Trap
Written By: Joyce Perry
Series: Star Trek: The Animated Series
Year: 1973
This is probably among the best of the whole animated series. It is faster paced than normal, and the character interactions are well done. You get a sense too often in this show that only Nimoy, Kelley, and Doohan have ANY voice over skill at all. Shatner, Nichols, and surprisingly Takei are often too serious and monotone in their voice, making them less interesting to hear. Nimoy has a great voice, and he plays Spock like he did in the show, Kelley seems to just being playing McCoy to the best of his ability…and Doohan…my god the guy voices Scotty and practically every other male voice needed! Takei has a tremendous voice, so I’m a bit surprised in how bad he seems in this series.
Anyhow, the episode is good. We get a good villain in Kor (from the Klingon’s introduction “Errand of Mercy”) and a interesting plot. All in all one of my favorites from TAS.
