The final episode of the first season of Star Trek is a good one. The Enterprise ends up investigating a planet that has been under some kind of attack. Kirk’s brother Sam happens to be stationed there…but he is dead upon the arrival of the Enterprise crew.
The parasites that are trying to control the people are a cool little Trek alien thing. They look a bit cheesy and cheap at times, but all in all I’d say the episode doesn’t suffer too much from it.
I like this one, I think it’s a strong episode to end the first season on, not as good as "The City on the Edge of Forever" would have been, but good in its own way.
