Story: Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges
Written By: Ronald D. Moore
Series: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Year: 1999
Talk about great twists and turns. This episode sees the return of Section 31 and Sloan, who ask Bashir to perform a mission at a conference he is attending on Romulus. Bascially he is meant to assess our new ally. But the episode has twists that excite (like any good spy flick) and keeps the characters interesting throughout.
I think the Romulans get a whole new layer in this one, which is always good. Siddig gives a great performance, as does Sadler. The whole plot unfolds and has startling discoveries and results, namely Senator Treenak is sentenced with treason.
Great episode, a worthy end to the small Section 31 plot (too bad they went for one more episode) and a solid way to bring an end to the first half of the final season before the 10 hour arc begins.
NEXT TIME: Beginning of the End
