Story: Liaisons
Written By: Jeanne Carrigan-Fauci & Lisa Rich
Series: Star Trek: The Next Generation
Year: 1993
This episode is decent, but flawed. I think it has some fun ideas and stuff, but there is something about it that just feels decidedly average. On the Enterprise some ambassadors from Iyar are visiting the ship, while Picard is meant to visit their planet.
With the ambassador story, it is sort of like “Disaster” trying to put our characters in situations they do not belong…notably Worf in a diplomatic position. Then there is Troi who introduces one of the ambassadors to chocolate and he even turns her off the idea with the amount he eats.
Picard’s storyline is a tad better, less humorous. His shuttle crash-lands on a planet, and he becomes trapped with a woman called Anna who has been trapped there for years, and seems to want Picard to stay trapped with her.
Not the best episode in the world…but tolerable.
