Picard finds out he has a son through a Ferengi plot. It is about as interesting as it sounds. There is a decent moment here and there, but it is on the lower end of average TNG.
It eventually turns out that he is not a son, and the preceding episode didn’t really need to be told, as it was about Picard getting to know this estranged son…but what is the point if it all turns out to be false? There is no point.
