Story: Time’s Arrow
Written By: Joe Menosky and Michael Piller
Series: Star Trek: The Next Generation
Year: 1992
Time’s Arrow is disappointing. After two years of really great finales with decent cliffhangers, we get this. Now, “Redemption” didn’t have the best cliffhanger in the world, but there was plenty that had me wanting to come back, where as this had a bad cliffhanger and not enough to have me screaming to come back.
Data’s head is found in a cave, which is disconcerting. So an investigation begins to determine how this could be. It seems Data’s head has been there since the 19th century.
The story is slow and, sadly, boring. To make a long story short, Data ends up in the 19th century. And the cliffhanger has the rest of our crew slowly wandering into the light that will take them to the 19th century as well. The way it is portrayed on screen you see the “To Be Continued…” and you go “wait, what? That’s it?”
