Story: Relics
Written By: Ronald D. Moore
Series: Star Trek: The Next Generation
Year: 1992
“Relics” is not an episode that has a lot of depth to it. Its plot is thin. But it has Scotty goddamnit…and that is enough to make you love it. If there is a flaw it is that Scotty spends most of the time playing the sad lonely old man, rather than being the real Scotty.
But the saving grace of that is the scene in shared by Doohan and Stewart on the holodeck, swapping stories on the bridge of the original Enterprise. The proper one from the 60s. Great scene.
In the end it isn’t really the best Trek of any show, but it is fun to revisit Scotty one last time.
