I feel like the second part is better than the first, mostly because it has a lot more story and character going on this time around. “Descent” is the last finale/cliffhanger/premiere storyline TNG had, and I think there is a bit of sentiment that goes into enjoying this one. The Borg storyline in TNG is effectively wrapped up in “Descent, Part II”. It takes the storyline, of Hugh from “I Borg” and shows that he did in fact corrupt the Collective with his thoughts of individuality, but it has left the Borg lost and confused, and in some ways aggravated with the Federation. Lore has taken advantage of this and tried to control them, and he is using Data as well.
