Two scientists claim that Warp Drive is dangerous for the galaxy…it is pretty much a TNG environmentalist episode. I think the episode would have been stronger had the whole idea Starships being the galaxy what Cars are for Earth not turned out to be wrong.
I mean if they wanted to make the case for environmentalism, which Star Trek most definitely should, then it shouldn’t have turned out that they were wrong, that it was all phony…it sort of makes it seem like “yea cars really AREN’T causing a problem, just like in that Trek episode”.
I like that Geordi got something to do here, but I just felt like it didn’t really pan out as well as you’d hope.
