What a fantastic and original idea. This one is all about language. The first meeting with some aliens proves difficult as they only speak in metaphor. But to prove how they can get along, they kidnap Picard and place him on a planet with their own captain. They are forced to survive together through a language barrier.
This episode has been used in linguistics courses at colleges. That says a lot about it.
It is a really strong episode that gets its point across well, with out beating us over the heads with it. I really admire an episode as strong as this, with so many brilliant elements.
