One of the few Trek episodes that attempt to deal with the issue of homosexuality. It is an interesting idea, but I am unsure of how successfully it really was in the end. The episode is unfortunately not that engaging.
It deals with a race of people that has no real gender or sex. But there are oppressed minorities that feel that they are either male or female. This is looked down upon in their society. It is in an interesting idea, but it is written rather flatly.
