Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season 5 Recap

Despite a weak finale, I think Season five is still a great season. It has several classics and all in all it continues the feel of Seasons three and four, and many of the themes and threads are continued, and some new are added. Ro Laren is added to the recurring characters as well, and she makes a nice change of pace for a regular Starfleet folk.

This is the prime of TNG…Seasons 3-5 are the strongest. Seasons 2, 6 and 7 are still rather good, but the TNG that really worked at its best and was its own thing with no spin offs to speak of…it was these three seasons that made series like Deep Space Nine and Voyager possible.

Luckily even though I feel as rule seasons 6 and 7 are not as consistently strong as the past three seasons, they still really aren’t all that bad.
