Story: The Ship
Written By: Pam Wigginton, Rick Cason and Hans Beimler
Series: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Year: 1996
Fantastic episode, absolutely brilliant. The directing, acting, and script are all top notch. While surveying a planet in the Gamma Quadrant for possible mining, a ship crash lands nearby. It is a Jem’Hadar warship. Before they get a chance to even get inside, another warship appears and destroys the runabout, killing 3 crewmembers. Then Jem’Hadar beam down and attack, hitting one the Chief’s men Munez. So now O’Brien, Sisko, Dax, Worf, and the wounded Munez are forced to survive in this Jem’Hadar ship, outnumbered in the heat…its going to be a tough battle.
The Vorta with the Jem’Hadar wants to only retrieve an item from the ship, and will allow Sisko to take the ship itself…but he won’t let her at it. It is a fantastic episode, lots of great scenes and dialog…our characters all working under a lot of pressure to save this prize, with a character slowly dying throughout. It is really a great piece of drama.
