Undercover as Klingons

Story: Apocalypse Rising
Written By: Ira Steven Behr and Robert Hewitt Wolfe
Series: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Year: 1996

After the reveal at the end of season 4 that Gowron may in fact be a changeling, Starfleet decides to send Sisko undercover to expose him. He brings with him O’Brien, Odo, and Worf. All are altered in appearance, Worf only slightly so. Odo is having trouble adjusting to being a solid.
The whole episode is decent, it isn’t as special as you’d like after “Broken Link”, but it does the job. The Hall of Warriors is cool, but Meaney and Brooks should NOT be in Klingon make-up ever.

In the end it turns out Gowron is not a changeling, it was a mislead from the Founders. In fact it was General Martok all along who was the Changleing, convincing Gowron to go into war. After Martok is exposed to the Klingons, Gowron is asked to end the war, but the most he can do is a temporary cease fire, since the Klingons will not want to give up some of the worlds they have overtaken…so the war with the Klingons is sort of over, but not officially yet…and some tensions continue until the half way point of the season.
