Joran Dax

Story: Equilibrium
Written By: Christopher Teague and René Echevarria
Series: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Year: 1994

Interesting episode, if flawed. I always feel like the ideas behind the Trill are way more interesting than the execution. This one is better than some of the previous Dax tales, but it still falls into the same problem in the second half…having Jadzia out cold for a good period of time. Why did the writers insist on have Trill stories that put our main trill quiet or out cold? Weird.
That said…the story of a missing life in Dax’s past is interesting. I think that when she is on screen Ferrell gives good performance. And the whole Joran thing is interesting.
